so I'll be honest, I've never blogged before in my life. I guess we all have to start somewhere so I'll be completely unoriginal and tell you 10 things about myself. Here goes..
1) I'm 20 years old. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. To most people I represent the western ideal of Hollywood, beauty, youth, and consummerism. Many times people make assumptions about me because of my age and the way the way that I look. I've been called a bimbo, dumb, barbie, slut, etc, by people who barely know me. But once people have gotten to know me, they ave called me an old soul, a beautiful spirit, a blend of strength and feminity, a voice for the voiceless... This is what I cling to as the core of who I am and my Original Design
2) I am a modern day abolitionist. The modern day slave trade is at an all time high and is growing every day. There are more slaves in the world today than when the slave ships sailed back and forth to Africa. About 70% of modern day slaves are sold into prostitution, to brothels or bought as personal sex slaves. 50% of these are children.
3) My religion is love and I don't support any form of hate, or oppresion of any people group or religion. I don't believe in Anti-Americanism, Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, or Homophobia. I believe all people have intrinsic value and worth.
4) I love to travel and have travelled a lot compared to many my age. The countries I've been to include U.S., around Canada, Australia, Vanuatu, Japan, England where I currently am living until April when I will travel to Paris with my boyfriend, and then return to Canada. There are so many amazing places in this world and I want to see all of it!
5) I have a boyfriend who is in Canada.. I miss him very much and can't wait for him to join me here in March
6) I am an artist. This is such a broad word I know. My artistic ability is mainly in visual arts including drawing and painting, although I am very interested in photography as well. I have zero professional training, but I have taught myself a lot especially in drawing and painting and I am experimenting with photography. All of my art has to do with portraits. I love to draw/paint the face and body, mainly women
7) When I am not travelling I am a university student. I am applying to major in International Relations
8) I love to cook and I love to drink wine. I actually like food and alcohol in general, they're such pleasures!
9) I try to stay in shape the best that I can. I like to swim, run, hike, even weight train. I also try to eat healthy, but I don't deprive myself, I think its okay to indulge sometimes..
10) I am a very free spirit. I am not afraid to do things on my own. I usually think with my heart instead of with my mind. I try to seize every opportunity that comes my way. I know what I want from life and I am not afraid to go out there and get it. I often jump before I look. This has gotten me into trouble on occasion, but I've found that things usually have a way of working themselves out along the way.
